Debra Friedman: Sales Manager, Trend Specialist
Debra is passionate about identifying seasonal trends for FCD’s customers and providing them with the creative ideas and direction to help create products reflecting those trends. An accomplished professional with over thirty years of experience, Debra was previously Director of Product Development at Komar, where she collaborated with senior management in the creation of a $70 million private label program for Wal-Mart. Before that, she was Director of Product Development and Merchandising for Wade Manufacturing, a large domestic textile mill. There she managed a $30 million print business, directed all market research, and developed concepts and designs for many major companies, including Nordstrom’s, Saks and Sears. She joined Frank Cassata Designs in 2009.
Today, Debra focuses on styling and creating coordinated groups of artwork from FCD’s vast design archive for its customers to use for concept development and implementation. Her goal is to give them trend, color and print directions for the upcoming season to help them make inspired design decisions for their lines and brands.
Debra was educated at FIT. She began her lifelong career in fashion as a teen, making and selling weavings, macramé and jewelry. On a trip to Mexico, she was deeply moved by the beauty, colors and textures of that land and culture, an experience that solidified her love of fashion, fabric and design.
At FCD, Debra is committed to building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with her customers by providing them with unparalleled service and creative inspiration to help them produce the most innovative and successful product designs.
